The moment

Three restaurant emergencies the taped-up sign can't fix.

Short-staffed at 3pm

"Two cooks called out. We close at 8, not 10."

Preview special hours and a temporary announcement, then approve the Google submission.

The special is 86'd

"Salmon's gone. The listing still sells it."

Menu-item edits are a later capability. The initial scope keeps this as a temporary announcement preview.

Patio night

"Weather turned perfect. Patio's open late."

Post it while you set the tables. The extra covers find you because the listing said so.

What you can update

Everything a dinner rush can break.

How it plays out

The Friday the fryer quit.

Illustrative example — a composite scenario, not a real client.

Millbrook Trattoria, 5:40 PM

The fryer dies forty minutes before the Friday rush. Half the appetizer menu is gone. The owner texts the assistant from the kitchen: pull the fried items, post that pasta and pizza are running full speed, and note the patio is open.

The preview comes back in seconds; she approves it standing at the pass. The listing customers check on the drive over already matches what the kitchen can actually make — orders arrive right the first time, and the phone stops ringing with "is it true you're closed?"

The next morning she texts one more line: "Fryer's fixed, menu back to normal." Done before the espresso machine warms up.

Restaurant questions

Straight answers.

Can it 86 a single menu item?

Not in the initial Google-first scope. The simulator can show the concept, but menu-item edits stay preview-only.

Can it post tonight's special with a price?

A temporary announcement may be supported where the approved Google capability allows it. Direct menu and price edits are not a launch promise.

We change hours for brunch, holidays, and private events. Does that work?

One-off and holiday hours are in the Google-first launch scope. Recurring schedule changes remain preview-only initially.
